Citation Issued in Accident Near Jesup

An Oelwein motorist is being charged with causing a traffic accident near Jesup.

It happened just before 1pm Friday (Aug. 4), at the intersection of 220th Street and Dugan Avenue, east of Jesup, in Buchanan County.

A vehicle driven by Starr Johnson of Oelwein was headed east on 220th, when she struck the rear of a slowing car driven by Katy Annis of Waterloo. Annis was in the process of slowing to make a turn.

No one was injured.

Johnson was charged with Failure to Stop in an Assured Clear Distance.

The Iowa State Patrol assisted the Buchanan County Sheriff in the investigation.
