3 Month Investigation Yields Arrest in Sex Abuse

After a nearly 3 month investigation, a Northeast Iowa man is being charged with Sexual Abuse.

The Delaware County Sheriff's office began the lengthy investigation in May of this year, when the alleged sexual abuse was reported. Then on Friday (Aug. 4), the sheriff served a warrant on Cory Smith of Delhi. Smith is being charged with 2 counts of Sexual Abuse-3rd Degree. No other information on the incident was released.

A Colesburg couple is charged with assault following an incident last week. At about 1:30pm Wednesday (Aug. 2), the Delaware County Sheriff got a call regarding a domestic disturbance in Colesburg. When officers arrived, they were informed by the reporting party that his wife was out of control. Following an investigation, deputies charged Christopher Ramos and his spouse, Angellee Grossaint, with Domestic Abuse Assault.
