Police Identify Victim In Waterloo Grain Bin Accident
Authorities have identified the man killed in a Waterloo grain bin accident.
Waterloo police confirmed the victim was Rand Renner, 68, of Waverly. Renner was an employee of the East Central Iowa (ECI) Cooperative, where the mishap occurred around 11:30 a.m. Monday (Aug. 7, 2017).
Rescuers were called to the ECI elevator, 1750 Broadway St., on the report of a worker buried up to his waist in soybeans inside a bin. Emergency crews worked for about two hours trying to get to Renner, but their efforts to save him failed.
