
Motorcyclist Killed By Semi On I-80 In Eastern Iowa
One person was killed Saturday morning after a motorcycle collided with a semi-truck on Interstate 80 in Eastern Iowa.
The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports that the Iowa State Patrol says the crash happened Saturday morning at around 11:37 a.m. A motorcycle being driven by 57-year-old Gregory Brian of West Terra Haute, Indiana was traveling eastbound on I-80 near the Brooklyn exit when he collided with the back of a semi-truck being driven by Sherman Gilbert of Holbrook, Arizona.
The Gazette reports that after colliding with the semi, Brian was thrown from his motorcycle and landed on the roadway. He was then run over by another semi-truck driven by Sidney Greenlee of Chicago, Illinois. Emergency crews were called to the scene, but Brian was pronounced dead.
An investigation into the accident continues.
