Man Arrested After Driving into Ditch in Fayette County

A Calmar man has been arrested after putting his vehicle in the ditch in rural Fayette County.

The accident happened just after 11pm Tuesday (Jan. 2), on "O" Avenue, 3 miles west of West Union. 34 year old Darren Peyton was the driver of a car that went out of control and entered a ditch. No one was injured, but Peyton was taken into custody for Driving While his License is Suspended and Failure to Maintain Control. He was held in the Fayette County jail until his court appearance.

The Fayette County Sheriff is investigating a one-vehicle accident that happened early New Year's Day, on "D" Avenue, a half mile south of Wadena. 37 year old Heather Buchholz of Wadena was driving south when she lost control due to weather conditions. The car went into the ditch, and was totaled. No one was injured.
