Retirement... ahh sweet retirement. For many of us, it's a word that sounds more like a pipe dream. Maybe it is? According to a new WalletHub survey, only 23% of Americans 'very confident' they will have enough money for retirement.

While that is bad news, here is some good news, Iowa has TWO cities ranked in the top 182 cities to retire in, and the state as a whole was ranked NUMBER 7 out of 50 for 'best state to retire in'! Not bad. Not bad at all!

So how did WalltHub come up with these rankings? The rankings looked at each state's:

  • Affordability (Iowa ranked #27)
  • Quality of Life (Iowa ranked #8)
  • Health Care (Iowa ranked #10)

Iowa's two cities that finished in the top 182 were:

  • Cedar Rapids (Ranked #89)
  • Des Moines (Ranked #104)
