Leaders from the soy checkoff, American Soybean Association and U.S. Soybean Export Council met with customers and government officials in China recently - as part of the International Soy Growers Alliance - to discuss farmers’ commitments to providing a safe, abundant soybean supply along with the importance of eliminating trade barriers. United Soybean Board Treasurer Jared Hagert says China is the largest importer of U.S. and South American soy. Hagert says the common goal is to build on partnerships and strengthen trade relations to remain China’s premier soy supplier. ASA President Ray Gaesser says the cooperation and coordination of the three U.S. soy organizations make the partnership with South America possible.
