There May Be More Waterloo Ghost Hunters This Fall Than Ever Before
This summer has seen a huge number of people trying new things, and one of those things is ghost hunting! Iowa is a great spot for some Spector hunting. Ghost hunters come out to Iowa to find the next big spot where they can prove that ghosts exist. Many amateur ghost hunters start right here in the Midwest since there are so many great spots to "find ghosts."
Places like Edinburgh Manor are once again open for those who want to explore the legendary abandoned asylum. Edinburgh is about an hour's drive away from Waterloo, so let's look at some closer spots.
Former Johnson Funeral Home - East side Waterloo
The rumor was that this spot was was not burying bodies of those un-paid in the home... Yikes, not getting burred can make for some angry spirits.
Sheep Barn Hill cemetery - Waterloo
This appears to be a favorite for local ghost hunter... Then again most cemeteries are.
Black Hawk County Cemetery - Waterloo
Speaking of cemeteries, this one is sitting adjacent to the Islamic Cemetery. This spot which features a long row of dozens upon dozens of babies that all died mostly in the early 1930’s. This spot has similar rumors behind it like a popular Haunted Davenport spot in Iowa.
Renssaeller Russell House - Waterloo
A home from the 1800's with a story of a young girl drowning? Makes sense why this spot is another local go to for those hoping to snap a pic of a ghost.
St. Francis Hospital/Pinecrest Building - Waterloo
It was built in 1912 and served as a hospital for 55 years. That's a lot of years for some rumors of ghosts to start...
