This is National FFA Week. More than half a million students in the United States share the importance of agriculture in our every day lives, spread their passion for agriculture and host community-wide events to help others in need. Students offer their first-hand experiences in an attempt to educate others about farm practices.. This week-long tradition started in 1948 and encompasses President George Washington’s birthday in recognition of his legacy as an agriculturalist and farmer. FFA's mission of preparing future generations for the challenges of feeding a growing population has evolved to today's mission of helping the next generation rise up, meet new agriculture challenges, help members develop their own unique talents, and explore their interests in a broad range of career pathways. A variety of community events are planned nation wide. Check with your local FFA chapter for more details.
