The Upper Iowa Peacocks close out the home portion of their schedule when they host Wayne State (Neb.) on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 29, 2016).

The Peacocks will honor 18 seniors, who will be playing their final game at Harms-Eischeid Stadium in Fayette. The group helped to created a resurgence in football at Upper Iowa, which posted three consecutive winning seasons from 2013 to 2015. The seniors include: Darius Cohen (DB), Marcus McCoy (DB), Jalen Amis (WR), Jacob Wrage (WR), Trey MacTaggart (TE), David Esswein (WR), Brian Steffensmeier (OL), Jalen Groth-Chambers (OL), Joe McCaffery (RB), Vincent Otdoerfer (RB), Alex VanGerpen (RB), Cameron Vinsand (P), Kolter Freidhof (QB), Dimitri Morales (QB), Joe Busch (DL), Jeremy Bacon (LB), Zach Gardner (LB) and Matt Sharp (LB).

Upper Iowa (2-6 overall, 1-3 NSIC South) is seeking its fourth-straight win against Wayne State and history indicates it will be a battle from start to finish. The two teams have split the previous 10 meetings in the all-time series, with six of the last seven games being decided by three points or less. In 2015, the Peacocks beat the Warriors 34-31 in double overtime.

Both squads boast solid passing attacks, but a key for Upper Iowa will be balancing its time in the air attack with a ground attack that is averaging over 185 yards per game. The Peacocks' rushing offense is ranked 44th nationally and 5th in the Northern Sun Conference (NSIC). Wayne State (3-5, 2-2), meanwhile, ranks 11th in scoring offense, averaging nearly 27 points per game.

Upper Iowa football can be heard throughout the 2016 season on AM-950 KOEL with play-by-play announcer Joe Stasi, who's currently in his 14th season as the "Voice of the Peacocks" and 16th overall. Kick-off is scheduled at 1:07 p.m, with KOEL's pre-game coverage beginning at 12:30 p.m.
