Sheriff Reports Two Recent Accidents in Fayette County

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office is reporting two recent traffic accidents in the county.

A Fayette woman is being cited for causing a traffic accident west of the city of Fayette. At about 2:30pm Sunday (Oct. 4), deputies were called to the 13,000 block of Highway 93 to look into a two-vehicle accident. An SUV driven by 19 year old Destiny Kleppe was eastbound when she crashed into an SUV driven by 36 year old Suzanne Kent-Thomas of Fayette. Both vehicles had substantial damage, and there were minor injuries. Kleppe was cited for following too close. The investigation continues.

And at about 4:30pm last Thursday, Oct. 1st, officers were called to a car/deer accident in the 26,000 block of Highway 18. 55 year old Amy Moore of Hawkeye was driving south when she struck a deer that was traveling across the roadway. There wss just minor damage to her van, and no one was injured.
