
Waterloo Man Arrested On Weapons-Related Charges
Police arrested a Waterloo man on weapons charges following an investigation of shots being fired in the city Tuesday night (Jan. 31, 2017).
Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 500 block of Mildred Ave. around 8:30 p.m. According to Waterloo police spokesman Dave Mohlis, two men were involved in a fight that resulted in at least one shot being fired. Investigators recovered a shell casing at the scene.
The incident led authorities to 833 Donald St., where they executed a warrant to search the property. Mohlis said officers found ammunition and a handgun during the search.
Police then took Judson Collins, 33, into custody. He's charged with carrying weapons and reckless use of a firearm.
