(Radio Iowa)  The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission approved a 20-thousand dollar penalty against the Isle of Capri Casino in Waterloo today (Thursday) for allowing an underage gambler onto the casino floor.

The female got onto the gambling floor on July 25th and in addition to gambling, she also drank alcohol in that time.

Casino senior director of operations, Shannon Korsi, says they took quick action after reviewing the situation.
"The two team members who were involved were terminated upon investigation. One team member was suspended -- she did follow procedures by getting the individual off the casino floor -- which allowed us to review the incident," Korsi says.

Korsi says they used the breach of security to educate everyone.
"We used that identification and re-trained all of our security officers to ensure that they understood what had happened. In addition to that, we had D-C-I come in and do an additional training with all of our staff," Korsi explains.

Racing and Gaming Commission chair Jeff Lamberti says he is pleased to see the actions the casino took to improve security after the violation was found.
