Van Rollover Near Maynard, and a Two-Vehicle Crash in Clermont

A rollover accident near Maynard, sent 5 people to the hospital.

The Fayette County Sheriff received several 911 calls Saturday (May 1), at about 11am, concerning a vehicle that rolled onto it's top.

The accident happened on Highway 150, one mile west of Maynard.

The investigating officer determined that the van, driven by a 17 year old girl from Maynard, was westbound when it went out of control. The vehicle entered a ditch and rolled onto it's top. The driver and her four passengers, were taken to local hospitals to be treated for minor injuries.

The 2005 Dodge Caravan was a total loss. The driver, whose name was not released, was cited for Failure to Maintain Control.

Fayette County deputies were also called out to an accident Friday morning, on Mill Street in Clermont. Officers found that a car, driven by Scott Westcott of West Union, went out of control and struck a pickup, that was parked on the street. There were no injuries, but Westcott was cited for striking a parked vehicle.
