Fayette County Crash

Authorities have cited an 18-year-old driver for making an illegal U-turn following a two-vehicle accident that injured two people in rural Fayette County.

Sheriff's officials said an investigation determined that Weston Fantz of Fayette was making the improper turn when another vehicle come over a hill, struck his car, and then rolled several times after entering a ditch.

According to authorities, two juvenile passengers were injured in the crash and were taken by private vehicle to the West Union hospital for treatment. Fantz and the other driver, a 17-year-old from Elgin, and seven passengers between the two vehicles all escaped injury.

The accident happened on "N" Ave. north of 240th St., northwest of West Union around 6:30 PM on Tuesday (Sept. 25, 2018).
