Three Hurt In One-Vehicle Rollover Crash Near Dike

Three people are recovering from injuries suffered in a one-vehicle accident near Dike early Monday morning (Aug. 14, 2017).

Grundy County sheriff's officials said Jose Lopez-alejos, 17, of Oklahoma City, Okla., was ejected from the van he was driving on U.S. Highway 20 after it dropped off the shoulder. According to authorities, Lopez-alejos over-corrected and lost control of the vehicle. The van rolled multiple times and landed on its side in the eastbound lanes of traffic.

Lopez-alejos and two passengers -- Manuel Rivera, 47, and Lius Guerrero-Almanza, 19, both of Oklahoma City -- were taken to a Waterloo hospital for treatment.

The crash happened about a half-mile east of Dike just after 3:30 a.m. on Monday.

The accident remains under investigation.
