A Clermont man has been arrested following an unusual incident last week.

Last Wednesday, Aug. 27th at about 7pm, Fayette county sheriff's deputies attempted to arrest 40 year old Matthew Durnan on two Fayette county warrants.

However, Durnan fled on foot, leading deputies on a short chase to his home in Clermont.
Durnan locked himself inside, refusing to come out, even after multiple verbal commands from the officers.

Durnan then left the house, but tried to flee on a bicycle. He was quickly caught, and taken to the Fayette County Jail.

Durnan was wanted on a warrant for violation of a domestic abuse no-contact order, and a warrant for failure to appear in court on domestic abuse charges.

Durnan now also faces a charge of interference with official acts. He was held in the Fayette County jail in West Union on $1,500 bond.
