Oelwein Man Turns Himself in to Finish his Jail Sentence
A local man, wanted on a warrant for not serving his sentenced jail time, has turned himself in.
On Tuesday (March 19), 29 year old Jake Covault of Oelwein turned himself in at the Fayette County Sheriff's Office on a mittimus warrant.
Covault had been sentenced to serve 4 days in the Fayette County jail, for his conviction on the charge of Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon.
Covault is now being held to serve his 4 day jail sentence. After he is released, he will then be given a court date to answer to the charge of Contempt of Court for failing to serve jail time as ordered.
