You have had a mimosa, right? If you're over 21, you HAVE had a mimosa. The quintessential weekend or vacation breakfast cocktail consists of champagne and OJ. Look, if you haven't had one, you know of the mimosa.

So you'll likely be as shocked and, dare I say, disgusted as me when you hear that a new "study" has found Iowans don't make their mimosas the same way as, well, everyone else on planet earth.

According to a study from the jewelry outfit Shane Company, people in Iowa prefer a different juice. A juice I have never heard of anyone using to make a mimosa...

Iowans prefer, according to the study, cherry juice as opposed to orange juice. The study sights 5-years of Google searching by Iowans as its basis for naming cherry juice as our fav.

Now, here's where I stop believing this study: they say only 8 states prefer the old-school OJ and champagne version. Again, in my many years on planet earth, I have never seen anyone make one without orange juice.

So if OJ is not our favorite mimosa mixer, what is? It's Iowa's favorite cherry. it's cranberry juice that came in at the top spot. It was picked as the most popular in 14 states.

Have you ever tried a mimosa with something other than orange juice? How was it? For me personally, I prefer just a good, dry (brut) champagne. Yep, JUST champagne. Nothing added. I guess that makes me unAmerican. Well, according to this study.
