Just when we are getting used to the idea that temperatures have warmed enough to melt the snow, Mother Nature reminds us that it is still winter.

Most of Northeast Iowa received some heavy, wet snow overnight, coating the trees and yards in a fresh blanket of white.

The city of Fayette seemed to be the epicenter, receiving just over 2 inches of snow.

Residents in Decorah, Cresco, Charles City and Guttenberg got another inch. And our Weather Spotter in West Union, reported 3/4ths of an inch.

In Oelwein, the snow depth varied from just shy of an inch on the north side, to approximately an inch-and-a-half on the south side.

Trees and bushes at Radio Park, and nearby Oelwein City Park, appeared to be freshly flocked for the winter season.
