Fayette County Authorities are filing charges against a minor who allegedly sent obscene materials to another minor, who, in turn, sent it to other young people.

After a 3 week investigation, the North Fayette Valley School district, Fayette County Sheriff, and West Union Police, discovered that a minor student sent some obscene materials to another minor last month (Jan. 15th).

Through the investigation, authorities determined that the second minor distributed the obscene material to other minors.

North Fayette Valley school officials initially discovered the incident, and contacted law enforcement.

The Fayette County Sheriff filed charges on Monday with the Juvenile Court services.

Disseminating obscene material to a minor is a serious misdemeanor under Iowa Code.

West Union police will also be filing charges on several other students who sent the material to others, once the investigation is completed.
