POSTVILLE, Iowa (AP) — A man hospitalized after a shooting in northeast Iowa's Allamakee County has been listed in stable condition.

The Sheriff's Office says deputies and Iowa State Patrol troopers responded to a call about a shooting at a rural Postville home just before 11 a.m. Sunday. Officers found 24-year-old Jacob Edwin Abrams, of Waukon, Iowa, outside the residence, with a stomach wound. He was taken to Veterans Memorial Hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities say preliminary investigation has determined that Abrams pursued a vehicle driven by Kristy Rooney and Austin Rooney to the residence. They say when Abrams exited his car and moved toward the pair, Austin Rooney fired one shot at Abrams.

Officials say Austin Rooney was detained at the scene. No charges have been filed at this time.
