An eastern Iowa motorcyclist has been seriously injured after he crashed into a deer in Linn County.
The accident happened at about 1:30am Thursday (Sep. 1) near the intersection of Lewis Access Road and Cedar Heights Trail, southwest of Center Point.

A northbound motorcycle, driven by 58 year old Michael Long of Cedar Rapids, collided with a deer, causing Long to lose control and lay the bike down.

Long, who was not wearing a helmet, was flown to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, with life-threatening injuries. A current condition report was not available.

The accident is under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff.
