Man Trapped in Truck After Sliding Off Road

Slick road conditions are sited as a factor in a rollover accident that trapped a man in rural Fayette County.

The Fayette County Sheriff was called out shortly after 2:30pm Tuesday, to the 19,000 block of 210th Street, near Hawkeye. When officers arrived, they determined that 31 year old Julian Leitzman of Hawkeye was driving his pickup east, when he lost control due to weather conditions.

The pickup slid into a ditch and flipped onto it's top, trapping Leitzman inside. He was extricated by the Hawkeye Fire Department.

Leitzman was taken to the West Union hospital, to be treated for minor injuries. The 2002 Ford F150 was totaled.
