The Iowa Department of Natural Resources continues to investigate a weekend hunting accident in eastern Iowa.

It happened Saturday (Jan. 11), just before 12:30pm, in Benton County, just north of Highway 30 at 13th Avenue, in a field southwest of Keystone.

41 year old Brian McManemy of Blairstown was out hunting coyotes; he was a passenger in a pickup when one of their firearms discharged, and struck him in the left leg.

The incident remains under investigation by the DNR, which was assisted by the Benton County Sheriff's Office.
