Man Shot While Coyote Hunting In NE Iowa
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources continues to investigate a weekend hunting accident in eastern Iowa.
It happened Saturday (Jan. 11), just before 12:30pm, in Benton County, just north of Highway 30 at 13th Avenue, in a field southwest of Keystone.
41 year old Brian McManemy of Blairstown was out hunting coyotes; he was a passenger in a pickup when one of their firearms discharged, and struck him in the left leg.
McManemy was taken to a Cedar Rapids hospital for treatment; his wound was deemed non-life threatening.
The incident remains under investigation by the DNR, which was assisted by the Benton County Sheriff's Office.
