Man Arrested for Assault That Put Victim in the Hospital

A local man has been charged in connection with an assault in Fayette County, that put one person in the hospital.
On Monday (Jan. 23) the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a report of an assault that happened on Sunday.

The victim in the incident was taken to Mercy Hospital in Oelwein for treatment of unspecified injuries.

After an investigation, 41 year old Michael Teague of Maynard was taken into custody on a charge of Domestic Assault Causing Injury.

Teague was taken to the Fayette County Jail in West Union. The sheriff was assisted by the Oelwein Police Department.

Fayette County authorities have made an arrest early this (Tuesday, Jan. 24) morning.

At about 2am, the office got a 911 call from a residence in Clermont, reporting that there was a man trying to get into the home.

Investigating officers arrested 31 year old Walter Maclaren of Decorah, on a charge of Public Intoxication, 1st Offense. He was held in the Fayette County jail until his initial court appearance.
