Local Man Faces Charges in Hit-and-Run

A local man has been arrested in connection with a hit and run incident.

Just before 10pm last Thursday (May 4), Oelwein police were called out to a hit and run traffic accident, in the 300 block of 2nd Street NE in Oelwein.

Officers then located the suspect; he was identified as 52 year old Jeffery Woods of Oelwein. Woods was arrested on charges of Driving While his License is Suspended, Operating a Vehicle Without Owner's Consent, and OWI.

Oelwein Police are looking into a theft incident.

Authorities were notified of the theft at about 11:30pm Saturday (May 6), in the 100 block of West Charles.

No other information was available.
