That’s according to the Maple Grove Fire Department. Crews responded to the house fire shortly before 7 a.m. Friday as thunderstorms rumbled through the Twin Cities Metro.
It was reported as a “lightning strike house fire” at a residence in Maple Grove. The first crew to arrive reported seeing flames coming from the northeastern portion of the house and called for additional staffing.
Firefighters were able to surround the home and quickly contained the flames, officials say. No injuries were reported.
It’s unclear if anyone was inside the home at the time of the fire. A damage estimate is not yet available, however officials say crews found the fire and extinguished it in the home’s attic space above the living room area.
