The Iowa-based gas station is known as a leader in renewable fuel sales in Iowa. In January, the station was recognized by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship with the Secretary’s Biodiesel Award. According to the department, over 1,000 Casey’s stores are currently offering biodiesel blends.

In fact, Casey’s is the leader in biofuel sales in the 16 states it operates in.

But what about other alternative fuel options?

On top of continuing its effort to offer biofuel options, the fuel station has started to expand its electric footprint.

Across its 16-state reach, Casey’s has been adding more electric vehicle charging stations. So far, this fuel option is available to vehicles in 28 locations in the Midwest and South.

In a news release from the company, Casey’s president and CEO Darren Rebelez says “we are exploring a number of ways to provide our guests with more lower carbon fuel options, including biofuels and EV charging stations.”

Iowa leads the way for Casey’s location with the most EV charging locations available… with eight locations.

According to Iowa DOT, there are 270 public EV charging stations in Iowa. Of these 270 spots, 8 percent of them are at Casey’s.

According to Casey’s website, the locations of their charging stations are in Altoona, Ankeny, Avoca, Carroll, Clarinda, Early, Emmetsburg, Sioux City, and Williamsburg.

With around 536 Casey's locations in Iowa, that means less than 1 percent of Iowa locations offer EV plug-in.

Arkansas, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Oklahoma have one EV charging location, Illinois has five, and Missouri and Nebraska have four.
