HEAT ADVISORY This Afternoon in Eastern Iowa

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Heat Advisory for Central and Eastern Iowa until 8 PM. Heat index values are expected to peak anywhere from 100* - 105*.

The NWS says:

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances.
