Fugitive and Woman Who Allegedly Hid Him Arrested

Two northeast Iowa residents face charges in Fayette County: one for being a fugitive, the other for hiding him in her home.

On Monday (April 24), the Fayette County Sheriff received a tip that a fugitive, 54 year old Keith Taylor of Postville, was staying at a home in Elgin.

When officers arrived, the homeowner, 36 year old Shannon Thompson of Elgin, denied having any knowledge of Taylor being in her residence.

But after a search of the home, Taylor was found hiding in a closet. He was arrested on 3 Felony Warrants for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. He was also cited for an additional charge of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

Thompson, the homeowner, was arrested for being an Accessory After the Fact.

Both were held in the Fayette County jail until their court appearance.
