Fireworks and Theft Charges in Oelwein

An Oelwein woman has been arrested on a theft charge, while a local man was cited for fireworks.

At about 4:30pm Wednesday, Oelwein police took 42 year old Christine Stone into custody, on a charge of theft by credit card, an aggravated misdemeanor.
The arrest was made following an investigation by the Oelwein Police Department.

An Oelwein man has been cited for shooting off fireworks after police were called to the 200 block of 1st Avenue NW on the report of a disturbance.
At around 10:30am Wednesday, 43 year old Billy Joe Spitzer was charged with illegal discharge of fireworks, a simple misdemeanor.
