A West Union man has been arrested on a charge of failing to register as a sex offender for the third time.

Fayette County sheriff's deputies took Stephen Dalhlstrom, 25, into custody on Wednesday (July 12, 2017). Authorities claim that Dahlstrom moved to a new residence weeks ago and didn't notify the state sex offender registry of the new address.

According to sheriff's officials, Dahlstrom has two prior convictions for registry violations. He's now charged with a third offense.

Dahlstrom was booked into the Fayette County jail in West Union.

Sheriff's officials said Dahlstrom is currently on probation with the Iowa Department of Correctional Services and he could face additional charges for violating probation.
