Oelwein Police have arrested 3 local people in separate recent incidents.
Shortly after 11pm Saturday (March 26), 40 year old Brian Potter of Oelwein was taken into custody on charges of domestic abuse assault and false imprisonment. The arrest followed an investigation into a disturbance in the 100 block of 5th Avenue NE.

Just before 10:30pm Saturday, 25 year old Andrew Engler of Oelwein was arrested on a Fayette County warrant for possession of a controlled substance 2nd offense, and driving while barred. The arrest was made in the 700 block of 1st Avenue SW.

And just before 1am Wednesday (March 23), 27 year old Brennen Cox of Oelwein was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine-over 5 grams, a drug tax stamp violation, possession of contraband, OWI 2nd offense, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Cox was arrested during a traffic stop in the 10 block of North Frederick.
