2020-21 Iowa High School Girls Basketball Rankings

Ten teams from the Cedar Valley and Northeast Iowa are featured in the fourth Iowa high school girls basketball poll of the 2020-21 season.

Three area squads are ranked among the top five in their respective classes. The high rated teams from the region are Dike-New Hartford (Class 2A) and Center Point-Urbana (Class 3A), both of which are rated No. 4.

Dike-New Hartford is one of four North Iowa Cedar League teams ranked in Class 2A. Rated behind the Wolverines are Grundy Center at No. 8, Denver at No. 9 and Jesup at No. 14.

Other teams ranked from the area are Turkey Valley, (No. 12 in Class 1A), Iowa Falls-Alden (No. 13 in Class 3A), Waverly-Shell Rock (No. 7 in Class 4A), Cedar Falls (No. 5 in Class 5A) and Waterloo West (No. 6 in Class 5A).

Waterloo West debuted at No. 1 three weeks ago, but fell five spots following an overtime loss to Cedar Rapids Washington Tuesday night. Three other top-ranked teams also suffered upsets.

The new survey was released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) late Thursday afternoon.
