A Florida man has been arrested after a multi-state homicide investigation.

In an article from KCCI, an investigation started when a trucking company reported one of their drivers missing after finding his rig abandoned in Cedar Rapids.

On March 8th, cleaning crews on I-65 in Indiana found a dead body in the ditch. According to WTHR, the body was identified two days later as Aristide Garcia, 63, from California. The coroner ruled Garcia’s death a homicide.

Upon further investigation, detectives learned Garcia was an employee of the Cedar Rapids trucking company, and one of the drivers reported missing from the abandoned rig. Miguel Ibarguren, 44, from Florida, was the other driver.

A warrant for Ibarguens’s arrest was issued on March 13th.

According to the Indiana State Police, Ibarguren was located in Arlington, Texas on the 15th,  and taken into custody with the help of the Arlington Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Garcia’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with the funeral expenses.

In a [translated] message from Yazmin Martinez, the page's organizer

“Last month Aristides Garcia disappeared and unfortunately, he was the victim of a crime. The Garcia family is going through a hard time and we need your help to give him the goodbye he deserves”.
