A Downtown Cedar Rapids business has decided to make another big change! According to a new article from the Corridor Business Journal, Balloons, Etc. & the Costume Emporium will soon be just Balloons, Etc.

Back in June, Balloons, Etc. announced on Facebook that they would no longer be renting out costumes due to a lack of staff. At the time, owners Jacob and Kimberly Cowger said that the shop would continue to sell makeup, wigs, masks, accessories, and costumes for purchase, even though the rental aspect of their business was ending. Just a few months later, the owners have decided to end their sale of costumes and accessories entirely. This was not a decision they took lightly, as they've been providing this service to the area for around 12 years now.

The good news is that Balloons, Etc. will remain in business. The article from the Corridor Business Journal reads:

"The Cowgers plan to continue operating as Balloons, Etc., offering balloon bouquets, deliveries, decorating and twisting entertainment. Balloons have always been their true passion, but having so many different areas added with The Costume Emporium, spread their focus too thin."

An update on the Balloons, Etc. Facebook page says that they are currently offering all retail costumes, masks, wigs, hats, costume accessories, and Halloween decorations at a discounted price. You can check out the shop's inventory just in time for Halloween at 420 2nd Ave SE in Downtown Cedar Rapids. Get the latest updates from Balloons, Etc. on their Facebook page HERE.
