Arrests and Citations in Oelwein

An Aurora man has been arrested in Oelwein on driving violations. Just before 2:30am Saturday, a car driven by 18 year old Victor Childers was pulled over by Oelwein police in the 300 block of 1st Street SE. Childers was arrested for driving while his license is revoked, and failure to file SR 22 insurance.

During a traffic stop Saturday afternoon on 1st Avenue SE in Oelwein, a Waterloo man, 49 year old Kevin Niles, was cited for driving while suspended and having an expired registration. Niles was also given warnings for failure to obey a traffic control device and failure to carry proof of insurance.

On Christmas Eve, an Oelwein man, 51 year old Jeffrey Woods, was taken into custody for burglary third degree and harassment third degree, after police were called to a disturbance in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue SE.

And Oelwein police are investigating some vandalism. A criminal mischief report was issued just after 1am December 24th from the 700 block of 1st Avenue SE.
