Another Winter Related Accident, Plus Police Look Into a Theft

Snow and ice covered roads are being blamed for a 2 vehicle accident over the weekend, northeast of West Union.

The Fayette County Sheriff was called out at about 9am Saturday (March 2nd) to Highway 18, east of Golden Road. An SUV driven by 18 year old Emma Kaisand of Waverly, went out of control due to the road conditions, crossed the center line and made contact with a car driven by 24 year old Dennis Kamp Jr. of West Union. Kamp's car went into the ditch. No one was injured, but there was $5,000 damage to both vehicles. The Fayette County Sheriff is investigating the accident.

The Oelwein Police Department is looking into the report of a theft. Just before 1:30pm Saturday, officers responded to a theft, in the 10 block of 1st Avenue SE. No other information was available, and the investigation continues.
