I think we can all agree that some gas stations are just better than others!

USA Today recently released some of their annual 10Best Readers' Choice winners for 2022, and one of the lists outlines the best gas station brands across the U.S. The article says that "a panel of experts partnered with 10Best editors to pick the initial nominees, and the top 10 winners were determined by popular vote." The 2022 winner will be pretty familiar to Iowans, and I think that a lot of them will agree with the pick!

USA Today and its readers have named Kwik Trip as the best gas station brand across the country! The article reads:

"This Wisconsin-based, family-owned company operates more than 600 stores in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa. In-store bakeries make more than two dozen different items each day, and all milk sold gets bottled within 24 hours of reaching the Kwik Trip dairy."

Kwik Trip, or Kwik Star as we know it here in Iowa, was founded in 1965 in La Crosse, Wisconsin. According to Wikipedia, the reason it's called Kwik Star in our state is to avoid confusion with another gas station chain, QuikTrip. In addition to fresh baked goods and milk, Kwik Trip also offers other basic grocery items and both hot and cold meals.

Kwik Trip wasn't the only Midwest gas station to make USA Today's list. Hy-Vee Gas Stations came in at number two! Here are the rest of the top 10:

3. Parker's

4. Rutter's

5. Maverik

6. QuickChek

7. Love's Travel Stop

8. Sheetz

9. RaceTrac

10. TravelCenters of America
