North Liberty must have smelled delicious on Saturday!

Over the weekend, the city of North Liberty held their annual Blues & BBQ Festival, a celebration filled with smoked meats and live music. The 14th annual event featured more than ten local vendors serving up BBQ, including:

Out of all of this year's participants, only one business could take home the coveted Best BBQ Award at the 2022 festival, and that champion was Sugarfire Cedar Rapids! They shared the news on Facebook, writing:

"Another Trophy On The Shelf! Thanks North Liberty Blues & BBQ For Voting Us Best BBQ 2022! We Always Knew You Had Great Taste"

Sugarfire Cedar Rapids is a restaurant that is close to our hearts, as we were just there for Listener Lunch a few months ago. If you've never stopped by their location at 2350 Edgewood Rd SW, you're seriously missing out. The St. Louis-based company opened in Cedar Rapids back in 2020, and some of our favorite menu items include the smoked turkey, pulled pork, Brisket Cheesesteak, Chicken Biscuit, and mac & cheese. I'm not surprised that they won over the folks at the North Liberty Blues & BBQ this year!

If you missed out on the Blues & BBQ Festival, there are still plenty of other events happening this month that you can check out! See a full list HERE.
