8 Country Stars Who We Want To See Host Jeopardy
It has been nearly a week since we've run out of Alex Trebek 'Jeopardy' episodes. Luckily Ken Jennings, the highest-earning game show contestant of all time was able to step in as host for the time being.
Jennings won't be the permanent host for the game show, but the first in a line of guest hosts that are expected to step in until producers find a permanent replacement for the late Trebek.
There are plenty of rumors on who could step in to Alex's shoes even as a guest host, but I think there are plenty of country stars who should through their (cowboy) hat in the ring.
1. Reba McEntire
Reba can act, she can sing, and she's been an award show host. She's hosted the CMA Awards five times & the ACMs SEVENTEEN TIMES to be exact. The red-head carries herself with such grace while also relating to her audience that she would be an obvious choice for a possible country guest host.
2. Brad Paisley
Just like Reba, Brad Paisley also has plenty of experience hosting award shows. He hosted the CMAs for eleven years with country queen Carrie Underwood. This year he was replaced by Reba and Dolly Parton.
Another obvious choice for the role due to his experience, but who wouldn't want to see Brad take out his guitar during Final Jeopardy?
3. Tim McGraw
Brad's buddy Tim McGraw is another good choice to step into Trebek's shoes (temporarily). While he's put out more than fifteen albums he also has a long acting record. He co-starred in Country Strong with Gwyneth Paltrow in 2010 and even appeared in the 2015 film Tomorrowland.
4. Luke Bryan
Luke Bryan has been a great judge on the new incarnation of American Idol over the past few years. He's got the charm and the charisma to subtly roast someone when they get a question wrong.
5. George Strait
This country music legend would have a similar sort of charm to Alex Trebek. I feel like he would start spewing out random bits of wisdom during the show. Also, The Country Music Hall of Famer would be a unique choice to guest host the show. Just like so many other of the country greats he has enough charm to give it a go.
6. Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood actually meant to go down the television hosting route, but American Idol had other plans. Underwood studied mass communications with an emphasis on journalism at Northeastern State University. She was three credits shy of graduating when she auditioned for the singing competition, but after her first tour the college gave her the credits so she could receive her degree. Think of it as a sort of internship!
She's hosted plenty of awards shows over the years; from the CMAs and the ACMs. Her experience being THE host for so many country award shows over her career and her degree would make her an unexpected yet perfect fit.
7. Faith Hill
While she doesn't have as much experience like Carrie Underwood she does have a great stage presence. What I would love to see is her and her husband Tim McGraw tag team the hosting gig since they play off each other so well.
8. Garth Brooks
Another country star who I would love to see bring their spouse on. Can you imagine how much fun him and Trisha Yearwood would have together? They have such amazing chemistry and would have fun all the way through the show.
