1 Dead in Rollover Near Harpers Ferry

Authorities have not yet released the name of a man killed in a one-vehicle accident in rural Allamakee County.

The sheriff received a report of an accident at about 1:30pm Sunday, on Highway 76, south of Harpers Ferry.

The vehicle was westbound, just west of the intersection with Highway 364, when it left the road and entered the ditch. The car then got back onto the road, crossed the highway, and went into the other ditch. The car rolled over, coming to rest on it's wheels.

The driver, a 63 year old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld until relatives can be notified.

The accident is still under investigation by the Allamakee County Sheriff.
