Why would a world-famous rock star be in Iowa?  To perform?  For corn...Busch Light...pigs...fireworks?  Maybe we'll see some pyro at this band's next show.

Thanks to Instagram, we know the rock star was here, but what he was doing (and what he was listening to) are the real questions.

This isn't Hollywood.  It isn't New York either.  It's not even Chicago.  But there are celebs in Iowa.  Plenty even around the Quad Cities.

11 Celebrities You're Most Likely To Encounter In The QC

Every city has connections to famous people, but the QC has a pretty high volume of famous visitors. Let's take a look at some famous faces you may catch here in the Quad Cities from time to time.

Why Was Shinedown's Lead Singer Brent Smith In Iowa?

We know it was on April 15, Tax Day, so maybe his accountant lives here?

Brent posted on Instagram that it was 10:30 in the morning and "Joan Jett is on the radio.  I just went and got coffee at Starbucks." Iowa tip...get local coffee next time you are in the state.

And he said that he was in Iowa and came across a fireworks store called Wild Willys Fireworks.

Now that doesn't narrow it down.  While there are a LOT of Wild Willy's in Nebraska, there are quite a few in Iowa as well.

According to their website, it looks like there are 25 locations.  Mostly in western Iowa, along with 6 in the Des Moines area and 2 in the Cedar Rapids area.

If I had to guess, he was somewhere near Des Moines.  After all, their tour gets started in Des Moines on April 25.  That is some very, very early tour scouting.  But if that's the case, that's why they are one of the best-selling bands out there now.
