Week four of the high school football season features a non-district showdown between two third-ranked teams in Northeast Iowa.

New Hampton, ranked third in Class-2A, hosts South Winneshiek, the No. 3-rated team in Class-1A. Both squads enter Friday's game unbeaten after scoring decisive wins in their previous three games. Each team is averaging 35-point wins.

There are two potentially good match-ups in Class-A District Four. Sixth-ranked Gladbrook-Reinbeck hosts Denver at The Pit in Gladbrook and fourth-rated AGWSR tries to stay unbeaten when it hosts perennial state power Wapsie Valley in Ackley.

Dike-New Hartford opens district play by hosting Clayton Ridge of Guttenberg in a match-up of 2-1 teams.

Also on Friday, Waterloo West renews its series with former Big Eight Conference rival Mason City at Memorial Stadium in Waterloo. It's Homecoming for the Wahawks.
