Two Pick-up Drivers Hurt In Separate Butler County Crashes
Two men went to area hospitals for treatment following separate accidents involving four vehicles in Butler County Wednesday afternoon.
The Iowa State Patrol said Daniel Christiansen, 58, of New Hartford was traveling southbound on North Public Road in Shell Rock and failed to yield the right of way at the Iowa Highway 3 intersection. Christiansen's pick-up truck collided with a westbound semi, driven by 52-year-old Kelly Call of Gulf Port, Miss.
Christiansen was transported by ambulance to the Waverly hospital. Call escaped injury.
The second crash also involved a pick-up. It occurred on Iowa Highway 57, just west of New Hartford.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, 50-year-old Claude Riley of Parkersburg didn't see a van that stopped in front of him to make a turn onto Terrace Ave. Riley's pick-up rear-ended the van, which was driven by 38-year-old Natisha Nash of Waterloo.
Riley was taken to the hospital in Grundy Center for treatment.
