Trucker Charged in Accident With Pickup in Elgin

An Edgewood truck driver is being charged with causing a traffic accident in Elgin.

According to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, it happened at about 8:30am Friday (Sept. 25), at the intersection of Main Street and Mill Street in Elgin.

A deputy determined that a semi driven by 57 year old Michael Fannon of Edgewood, ran a stop sign and crashed into a pickup driven by 87 year old Duane Strong of Elgin.

No one was injured, but there was $6,000 damage to Strong's 2016 Dodge Ram pickup, and $2,000 damage to Fannon's 1999 International Semi/Trailer.

Fannon is being charged with Failure to Obey a Stop Sign.
