Truck Stopped In Iowa After Traveling 4 States With Unique Setup [PHOTO]
When you have places to be and limited space, it can mean it’s time to get creative, which is exactly what one truck tried to do.
Last week, Iowa DOT Motor Vehicle Enforcement shared some photos of a truck hauling two trailers. While there was a lot of debate in the comments over the legality of this system, Iowa DOT came in and said that it was in fact legal “so long as it is structurally sound.”
In that post there were people that were looking for ways that setup was not legal, however, the Motor Vehicle Enforcement page said that not everything they share is illegal.
However, in one of the more recent cases, it was illegal.
A truck was hauling hay and a skid steer cross country when it ran into some complications. But hey(no pun intended), we have to hand it to the driver for making it to Iowa with this setup.
The driver was hauling the load from Pennsylvania to Montana, and they made it all the way to Iowa before being stopped for their setup.
That’s right, the driver made it through Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois before Iowa DOT finally stopped the truck.
People in the comment section were just as impressed as the Motor Vehicle Enforcement with this setup. As the Iowa DOT says, “well that is one way to do it. Not legally of course, but you know, that’s a way…”
Most comments were just as shocked the truck made it to Iowa with this setup. Many were impressed with how well the ratchet straps held the skid steer down, while others were shocked about the loose tires in the bucket.
