Here's The 11 Finalists In Bettendorf's Snowplow Naming Contest

How punny are you feeling today?

One entertaining thing many cities have started doing are snowplow naming contests. When they get new snowplows, they open it up to the community to come up with some kind of relevant name for it.

So that's how you get things like this from Ohio:

It's fun, it's creative, why not.

The city of Bettendorf recently acquired 2 new snowplows so they've had a naming contest for them. Submissions for possible names stayed open until April 17th, now the city has narrowed down the 306 submissions to the top 11 favorites.

This isn't Bettendorf's first city asset-naming contest. Last year, according to KWQC, they had a naming contest for recycling trucks that got over 4,000 submissions.

You can vote on your favorite snowplow names on the city's website but here are the ones in the running:

My vote has to be Snow White and the Bettendwarfs. I've seen several of the other ones in other cities but definitely not that one.

The winner will be revealed at the City of Bettendorf's annual Public Works Day on May 17th (which is from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Bettendorf Public Works Annex).
