A news release issued by the Isanti County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday evening says deputies and police officers responded to the report of a person being shot inside of a home. The shooting was reported at a home about 11 miles east of Princeton shortly after 6:30 Wednesday morning.

Upon arrival law enforcement confirmed a man had died in the home. The preliminary investigation indicates the man was targeted by the killer, the news release says.

No one else inside of the home was hurt. The victim’s name has not been released. He’ll be identified following an autopsy conducted by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office and notification of his family members.

As of Wednesday evening no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made. Officials say there is no danger to the public.

Agents from the Minnesota BCA also responded to the deadly shooting to assist with processing the scene and the murder investigation.
